Could our mental models be more positive?

By 17 de January de 2023February 28th, 2023No Comments

“The Human Being live for its values. But acts according to it mental models.”

Heard this sentence from a teacher, during my Executive Coaching Course.
What a reflective sentence!

I believe we live happier when we live in accordance with our own values.
Our values have the power to propel us.

But, indeed, it will be our mental models that will influence our actions and decisions.

The repertory  of experiences that we live influence the way we see the world, and this this is what makes us create our ‘mental models’.

But our mental models shall not be like our single and absolute truth.

Specially the not so positive ones… those models that surround us with fear, worries or even pessimism.

According to a research disclosed by The Wall Street Journal, we take approximately 35 k decisions per day (from the simplest to the most complex ones).

And once our mental models strongly influence our actions and decisions, somehow, they also define our days, our routines, and lives!

Develop the best possible mental models to face the different situations can be key to the processes of learning and development.

And can be the path for success at work!

One of the most efficient ways to develop better mental models is through increasing your KNOWLEDGE. Study, read and learn new things is one of the best ways to reinvigorate our mental models and turn them into more POSITIVE ones.

It’s never too late to reconsider your mental models!

The world needs leaders with more POSITIVE mental models!
